CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION

The mission of the Onslow County Career & Technical Education Department is to provide all students opportunities to earn industry credentials and gain skills necessary for a successful transition to post-secondary education or a career, in a global society.

Career Technical Education provides course offerings that meet student needs, interests, abilities, and aspirations. The availability of specific courses is determined by response to opportunities for employment, advanced education and practical life application.

Middle school students may participate in exploratory courses in business and information technologies, technology systems, and career decisions. In the high schools, courses are offered in the areas of agriculture, business and information technology, career development, health occupations, family and consumer sciences, marketing technology, technology education, and trade and industrial education. Each high school has a Career Development Facilitator to support the school-to-career connection and facilitate business alliance activities.
